I Vasant M. Thakar Mechanical Engineer by profession after working for 30 years at the age of 55, took premature retirement and decided to start SAVALI a shelter for MR & CP students. My inspiration was my daughter Vaidehi who was 100% Mentally Retarded & Cerebral Palsy child.

I stated this plant by sowing its seed at my residence. Then when the sprouts were blooming I decided to give it a new shape. So I donated my own plot to the institute in the prime location of bhusari colony, Kothrud, Pune. I make this [project develop with the strong support of my backbone my wife late Mrs. Prabha Thakar.

This center has been a lifelong care center for MR & CP individuals. It is flourishing with the kind support and co-operation of donors, banks, and all the well wishers. I have developed SAVALI with the gentle and loving touch of hygiene and  discipline of my wife.

Apart from this, I have conducted more than 100 awareness and training programs of National Trust, NHFDC, Rehabilitation Council of India, Commissioner, State Govt. etc.

I am sure it’s not going to be easy but it’s going to be worth. At last I would like to tell all my loving children that,
