A few words

About Savali

SAVALI is a shelter healing for those who are dependent for their life even for their personal needs and even the citizens of deficiency mentally as well as physically. They have equal rights as a normal citizen but because of deficiency they cannot work as a normal citizen even though they have the right to live. We are aware that the animals from the treasure of the forest, they are living in the safeguard of all of us. If anything goes wrong they have opportunity to go the jungle with dignity. Then why not special educations to be given for those who are born with no fault theirs?

SAVALI is one of them. It has strong base with 30 years experience of lifelong shelter from the age group between 5 to 6 years and others. They are dependent throughout their life on others and in the last 30 years SAVALI has taken all care regarding quality of bathing, eating and all type of dependency with devotional work and devotional people. Everyone is aware that there children are ancestor property but because of mental age problems, they are dependent on others even for their rights. It is the duty of parents to safeguard their interests throughout their life.

The government has given a number of concession and financial support like income tax benefits, professional tax, and semi-government facilities. People are supposed to spend a high percentage of service on the disabled or the divyangan Sanstha.

My efforts are worthwhile and I am happy to inform all the concerns that, SAVALI has two projects in Pune, One in the city of Kothrud area and another project in the rural area like Ambarwet. Both the projects having permanent infrastructure with all the modern facilities, including a ramp for their exercise as per the law. The total consolidated area in both projects is about 15000 square feet area with a capacity of a hundred inmates from the age group of 8 to 60 years. SAVALI has worked and received recognition from the Central government by getting a 4 national award and 1 international awards including from the president of India. It is also worthwhile to note that without the state government’s financial support like grants, we have achieved this goal.

The backbone of SAVALI –

Mr. Vasant Thakar is   83 years of age having a 100% disabled daughter. He have traveled throughout the world and found that India is lacking in the right of disabled, their facilities and support from all. He experienced that his daughter even at the age of 20 years could not get admission to any government special school. She was not independent and was not able to take academic education as per the normal student. As these children were treated as a mad and mentally ill child and kept aside out of the family in the unknown place.

In 1992 when SAVALI has started working this was the condition, but in the last 30 years with the pressure of UNO, there is a lot of development for the benefit of their mentally retarded and cerebral palsy individuals. Now there are more than two laws for the rights of these disabled. The parents of these special individuals are educated and they have come to know and understood about the behavior of the child and that they cannot stay home alone. Therefore an organization like  SAVALI is taking lifelong care center with good support and infrastructure. With the last 30 years of various experiences the staff is trained as per the psychological needs of the children and the individual to make them independent as far as possible.

Now SAVALI has achieved everything apart from the confidence and faith from the parent’s, Government and everybody, not only I but my whole family, I, my wife, and my daughter have taken efforts to uplift the life of these individuals.

With all the above facts we request all the well-wishers and   financiers, bankers, CSR committee, industries, and all the concerned that without your support above all, we cannot fulfill that each every object of our organization and it is very difficult to uplift the life of special individuals and make them live like a normal citizen as we are.

We all are aware that in Maharashtra 70% of the population in rural areas in BPL and awareness is essential and important for them for the right of the child.
